Programs

Our programs are aimed at building confident, creative performers while opening real pathways into the music industry.

Sweethearts band

The main performing group, with up to 50 gigs a year—immersive, hands-on industry experience. Gigs typically take place outside of regular school hours. There are annual Foundation fees for membership to the Sweethearts.

Young Hearts

A junior soul band designed for those starting their musical journey. Some gigs take place during regular school hours. There are annual Foundation fees for membership to the Young hearts.

Certificate IV in Music (Performance)

The Sweethearts Certificate IV is a unique, authentic educational program that has a proven culture of innovation, success and continuous improvement. Students are guided and supported as part of a professional performing band that is well established and highly regarded in the international music industry.

All Sweethearts band members complete the nationally recognised Certificate IV—one of the only programs of its kind offered at secondary school level. The Sweethearts band do their Cert IV theory during VET class time on Wednesdays and their performance hours when we perform at gigs. We encourage members to keep up their other music programs outside the band too.

The Sweethearts Foundation delivers nationally recognised training in partnership with and under the auspices of Australian College of the Arts (Collarts) Pty Ltd RTO 0109, based at Matthew Flinders Girls Secondary College.
